Bug Fix: ECoW
Bug:
Due to a series of technical issues, players were able to collect more than one copy of Epic Circle of Warding.
Players should only be able to collect/be in possession of one copy of Epic Circle of Warding.
Resolution:
We’re currently running a script to ensure that:
1. ONLY players who have completed the Undead Legends avatar set have the LE.
2. No players has more than 1 of this LE (excepting Admins).
What this means for you:
If you only have a single copy of Epic Circle of Warding, you will not be effected by this change.
For players that have gathered more than a copy of ECoW, your excess copies of the ability will be removed until you are in possession of only one.
Further, if you received an ECoW without completing the Undead Legends event, that ability will be removed from your inventory until you complete it.
Note: This script is making its way through the various VW servers and will take some time to reach all VW players.
This bug was brought to our attention via the comments of this blog. Although we cannot reply to most of the comments left here, we are grateful to you for your continued feedback.

I done combat with someone yesterday their skill ranking was 4300 mine was 4658.I lost,and when I looked to see what was used they had 59 ECoW.Now how fair is that.I don’t mind to combat and lose if they have better abilities then me.But if they have stuff that is from a glitch or a bug then I don’t like it at all.And another thing why can’t I use all the abilities that I have in combat,besides you all choosing what we are to use.When you do battle with a lot of people they get to use about all their abilities and you only get to use not even half of yours how fair is that.You really need to fix the game.And why is it down now for.

Its now March 15…11 days on, and I guess the problem with people having more than one Ecow hasnt been fixed yet? I stii have 5…started with one…couldnt gift any…but after ab few levelling ups got more…As did my girlfriend…We didn’t cheat…Just thought that was part of the game…A game that has gone down hil drastically since all the talk of bots and cheating became apparent…and its a massive shame.
Im all for opportunism tho, and if someone was quick enough to spot a glitch and send their clan 501 ecow..good luck to them…surely there cant be that many?…I just wish gifts were gifts and we could gift what we have to whom we please…after all, that is what a gift is right?…There should be no restrictions…Its meant to be a game afterall…and all this nonsense is really ruining it!…Bring our another ability with other stats better than ecow…problem solved!…Fed up Sox xxxx

So, if a glitch happens, and screws us over, it stays. If a glitch happens and helps us, dammed if it doesn’t get fixed.
What about people who traded fairly for them when they had no idea they weren’t supposed to be giftable? They lost the abilities the traded for? How is THAT fair?

Should have thought about why they had so many to trade so quickly as this did not last long. The gifting was fixed rather quickly, ppl just figured out if they sent one they could just keep sending it and not lose the one they had.

I know someone who got 50+ of them traded fairly because they had a few hundred Epic Mummies (bought with FP, bought with money, so fair), traded them 3-for-1 or something, right away. Nothing sleazy about that.

Lord Zynga: I am not sure why or how, but it seems I am being awarded additional Epic Circle of Wardings. I am pretty sure my clan is not gifting to me additional Wardings. I earned the Epic Warding very quickly. I noticed during attacks it was not listed as my best defense, even though it is rated higher than others I have. Suddenly, 2 days ago, I had 2 more Epic Wardings, and now today I have 2 more. Again, it is possible clan members have gifted me and I missed it. I over over 1,000 clan and it is hard to serve them all. Despite having 5 now, it is still not listed above Blood Bath during attacks. Am I earning additional Wardings somehow?

It is not the best offense, it is not better than blood baths, it is 150 defense. So it is the best when someone attacks you.

I also finished the collections and was awarded the CoW. I stayed at 1 until yesterday when I noticed I had 2. Logging in today I have 3. They just appeared! They were not gifted. What’s going on?

The weirdest thing is that the same thing happened to me when they had the new york missions. The last couple days I only had a couple more items to get and couldn’t get them. That is why this time I bought points to get the boosts

I am upset because I have used so many boosts in the past three/four days to get the last two items i needed. I did get one finally yesterday but have been trying to get the last one with no luck at all I even bought point to get boosts to fill energy and still nothing. I used to have lots of fun on this game but now I really am getting tired of trying so hard with nothing to show for it.

I logged of vampire wars the other day having only one ECOW and today i logged on facebook, and went to play the game i now have two ECOW.
Mayby the bug is in zynga´s system, giving more then one to players by random, or someone can gift them, but i did not do anything to cheat to get more then one.

They were able to gift them at one point and that is how they have 501. I realize there is a glitch and we get a few because I have 4 that just showed up but 501 is not just a few.

I am very disappointed that nothing has been done about this yet. So many people have 501 and are combating and taking sr from so many vamps it is pitiful. Why should we have to lose SR just because someone is taking advantage (CHEATING) by having 501. I have 4 and if I could delete 3 I would but I can’t. I have no idea how 4 got there in the first place.

Admins dont actually play the game they only use those accounts for testing purposes U will never see an admin attack u and all thier vampires are plainly marked as admin so if u attack it, its basiclly ur own fault for loseing a battle. zynga vampires is full of glitches and lot of the glitches mess up the player and the game and zynga does nothing including the gltich in novemeber that took away abilities when u did missions and it took over 12 hours to fix that
and then to get ur stuff back you had to had a screen shot before and after said incident who takes a screenshot of thier stuff daily?
and the one time a glitch benefits the players suddenly zynga crashes the game to fix it instead of fixing the other problems in the game that we all complain about

I am extremely upset… FIRST, you tell us you are going to FIX the bug with some script so I am trapped in White Screen Hell, unable to get into Vampire Wars for THREE HOURS while other members of my clan can play. Then, when I get back (having lost most of my blood magic and missing the Collector), I discover that NOTHING has changed … people I am fighting are STILL using the multiple Epics that your script was supposed to remove from their inventories. Then, when I FINALLY get blood magic back, and just as I am about to go into zombie mode so I don’t get killed, I get the dreaded “Greeting Mortals” screen!!!! As someone who used to work in the computer industry, I am well aware that system maintenance is a fact of life, HOWEVER, system maintenance is a PLANNED event… You should have the DECENCY to give your users NOTICE!!!!! BAD Form!!!!!

I totally agree. Even though zynga claim there will be an unfair advantage over those who have less or don’t have any epics, I don’t think thats true. It all depends on level and SR even if you were to have 50 ECoW and you were levels lower than your opponent, who had 1, you could still lose.
Besides most vamps are energy vamps and don’t have any need for their epics so it make sense to make them giftable.
Zynga maybe you should let the players choose on this one. We’re the ones playing… not you. All we want is a back and forth trade to help each other out.

if Zynga were truly worried about players having am unfair advantage over others because of the amount of ECoW they have they’d also limit the number of featured abilities people could purchase. Obviously, that’s not the case. And again I’ll point out…There are many players who ended up with multiples of Army of Snow DUE TO A ZYNGA GLITCH and didn’t have them taken away. Good for those players, I say. However, PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY the need to take THIS ability away from us when we got more than one when you didn’t do the same with Snow? It makes NO sense whatsoever and doing this now but not them IS totally unfair.
Btw, not taking care of people who PAID for FP and lost it due to glitches is theft.

Just like the last time when it zeroed out my over a hundred favor points and skill points that had not yet been allocated. Is that right??!!!!!
My fight list has the same vamps on it every time. I am a SR below 5000 but my list is almost entirely made up of 7 and 8 thousand SR vamps.
Why is there no achievement award when you reach level 1000 and each 1000 there after?
But you should do Werrats 1000s of time just to reach 500K missions.

I am still unable to get into Vamps while others have had almost no down time.
Plus I can be attacked, killed and lose blood because I was not in Zombie mode prior to this major screw up.
I also find it a little strange that my whole coven is basically unable to get into the game.

I was wondering if anyone else is having problems with the crypt locks not unlocking? I am in a level up in the 60′s and I haven’t been able to open up any locks for several weeks now. I just thought that once u got to a certain level (like 42) u didn’t get the locks anymore. You Godlike coders owe me a kill. I was on my fourth attack on the hitlist, and would have surely claimed the kill and bounty, when the screen went blank. You owe me a kill, and an average bounty of say 7,000,000 blood.

If this is an open forum, I am having a problem with combat. The page of players for me to attack is always too far above my ability and clan numbers. My skill rating has dropped 500 points because I cannot find anyone to have battles with.

If you increase the number of people in your clan, you might not face that problem. When that happens to me, I go to the ‘coffin’ page and look under combat comments and find people that my clan members have fought and fight them.

I agree…combat is a joke!! I’m lvl 210 or somethin like that with sr of 5500+ and only get vamps with sr way below that and if i do get anyone near my sr and attack them,they run away after 1 hit so i can’t get any sr that way either. I’m constantly attacking vamps only to have them run away after one or two hits,but a vamp that attacks me can hit me 8 or more times….totaly BS!

I don’t believe that Admins should be allowed to have any more than we are of an item, why should they get the advantage over all of us ordinary vamps, I mean they already stomp is into the ground with their UNGODLY amount of LE and Epic Abilities, not to mention their SR and LEVELS, I can only imagine what their Attack and Defense is at. They have ultimate control over us, when they should be equal!

ive been reading about all the glitchs and i dont like them but i DID click the ok lets play button. one hit wonders and people with stat ratings big whoop! the first night this all came out they had a glitch with earining 120 favor points betcha missed that cause by the time i got back the ability to get them was gone. i found out later its for lower lvl vamps.
i was not happy. get a grip and get a life, oh and yea life really isnt fair.

I’ve had a glitch with Epic Kiss of Death (it disappeared) and it’s cost me in big time in combat.

If I wasn’t an active player and got my rear end handed to me by those who are and have more goodies than I’d have, I wouldn’t hold it against them
Nor would I expect Zynga to limit what they can acquire through FP and/or special events.

It seems the moment you posted the problem, I clicked on my vampire menu bar and now the game wont load, it’s just white,,, and I just paid money too… I emptied my cache/cookies yesterday so that shouldn’t be it.. can you look into it please

Should we stay out of VW while this runs? And why have the drops all but stopped… lots of people are complaining they just have an item or two left but nothing is dropping at all!

Players should not be able to have an unfair advantage because of a glitch in the game you pouting about it and saying its dumb just displays your ignorance. die in a fire

Justin, I agree that players shouldn’t have an unfair advantage due to a Zynga bug. But please don’t ever wish someone harm – even when you don’t mean it. It’s really bad karma for both of you.

That’s a bit harsh.
What about the players who have multi Army of Snow that didn’t have them removed? Why with THIS ability? Also, you’re always going to run into people who have large numbers of the featured abilities bought with FP, some of them Epic. So no matter what happens, there’ll always be someone stronger with more abilities.

ya cause allowing the hacked vamps to stay in the game is fair….so we need all the advantages we can get…if zynga want to fix the game they should delete the hacked vampires too.

Agreed. I don’t see Zynga jumping through hoops when a glitch *takes* our hard earned items, be they FP(often PAID for), SR, votes, etc. But let a glitch work in our favor and OMG!! can’t have that. That’s not right. Let’s see what else players end up missing besides multi ECoW.

I hear you Egypt – I lost my EKoD, and my ticket keeps getting stalled. First it’s “I need your id number”, then “we need a screen shot”… but I gave them all that information when I opened the ticket! I earned my EKoD before Valentine’s Day and used fp because I was going into surgery and didn’t know when I would be able to play again. I might as well not have bothered.

If they were still giftable and had always been intended to be giftable, I would agree. But it was far more than just being able to trade them and accidentally get more. People have 501+ illegitimate copies of the single most powerful defensive ability in the game, by almost 100%. This is something that definitely needed to be taken out.

Isn’t it more important that they take care of restoring all the things people have had disappear after maintenance and/or updates? If they can go through and remove ALL extra ECoW they sure as hell can go though and make it right with people who had FP, abilities and whatnot go poof.
As far as this being the most powerful defensive ability, there are players who have that many Epic Mummification and/or Epic Teleportation. So what? An epic is an epic is an epic. Admin having tons of them, oh yeah, that’s fair.
People who hack the game in order to cheat, not cool. But you know what? Zynga not restoring things to players who have lost FP, abilities, etc, because of Zynga’s glitches is pretty much the same thing.

I agree, they still haven’t restored our votes that they have somehow lost over and over again, and why is it that Admin gets to have more than 1 copy of it? Like they actually need it! They run players into the ground already with their ungodly amount of epic abilities and SR and Level!

Well, what about if after doing well over 1000 missions, I have been unable to complete the collection? I have been waiting for word about this, but have not gotten an answer as of yet. I have been trying without success for 4 days, and have done well over 1000 missions. What is the deal? In addition, I cannot even get into the game now. The white screen is back.

Please fix the glitch so that the white gloves stop disappearing from the female avatars when saved! They only stay if combined with another odd jewelry or accessorie item.

Although I get in every 5th mission or so I get a white screen… it’s annoying when you are going for avatar items.
Leanan: I had that problem during Christmas – I know how frustrated you must be while there is one event going on for epic abilites and another coming very soon.
